City Reaching Ministries

To connect people in churches with opportunities to serve the needs of their neighbors. To help all believers in the body of Christ reach out beyond the four walls of their homes and churches to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Growing numbers of people in communities across America have deep needs and are crying out for help. Most of those physical, emotional and spiritual needs are going unmet. The real answers to those real needs are sitting in the pews across this country!

Our vision is to reduce the number of abortions in Northern California by promoting life alternatives, especially two-parent Christian adoptive families. We provide following services, a housing ministry to adult, pregnant women open to considering adoption, pregnancy counseling for women in Northern Califorina, infant adoption services and international adoption services . To manifest love and compassion of Jesus Christ by protecting and enhancing the lives of children and families through quality social services.

To provide emotional and spiritual support and encouragement to parents and/or other family members of prisoners; to reach out to others outside the group who are “walking in our shoes”If you are feeling alone, ashamed, guilt, sadness, grief, hopelessness, anger--or like no one really understands how you feel--not even family or friends--we may be able to help you.

For almost 70 years God has been using Child Evangelism Fellowship to bring the love of Jesus Christ to children around the world. The Word of God puts a high priority on children. They are near to God's heart and we believe that He is uniquely concerned about their spiritual welfare. Without the foundation of a relationship with God and training in Biblical principles for life they are unequipped to face what life will throw at them.

Since its founding in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International has built and rehabilitated more than 200,000 houses with families in need, becoming a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle a significant social problem -- decent housing for all. Today, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 200,000 houses, sheltering more than 1,000,000 people in more than 3,000 communities worldwide.

Healing Nations is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian ministry. Healing Nations has been established to assist immigrants and indigents in becoming self-sufficient, productive residents of our community. The goal of Healing Nations is to sow seeds of Christian love and truth in the hearts and minds of unbelievers and create in them a real hunger for a living relationship with God through faith in Jesus. We seek to direct individuals and families to a local Christian fellowship where they will mature in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Since 1948 the Modesto Gospel Mission has provided nutritious meals, warm beds, and a place of safety for thousands of poor and homeless men, women, boys and girls. Founded by Mr. John Haine, the Mission's staff remain committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and meeting the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of every man, woman, boy and girl who comes to the Mission for help. The Modesto Gospel Mission receives no government support and is not a United Way agency. The Mission depends completely on the gifts of God's people - individuals, churches, groups, foundations and businesses, who care about the poor and homeless.

We respond to the needs of women faced with a crisis pregnancy. In these crisis situations, abortion is frequently used as a quick fix because the woman feels there is no alternative but abortion. Ninety-one percent of women interviewed at an abortion clinic said, that if they had truly felt an alternative was available, they would not have chosen an abortion. We strongly encourage informed decision making by providing information on parenting, abortion, and adoption so each woman can explore all possible options before making her decision- a decision she will live with for the rest of her life.

They provide a variety of local programs, ranging from religious services and evangelistic campaigns to family counseling, day-care centers, youth activities, and general programs. The religious and social services implement the Army's purpose of preaching the gospel to effect spiritual, moral, and physical reclamation. The corps community centers within defined geographical boundaries comprise a division, with more than 40 divisions in the United States responsible to their respective territorial headquarters. Specialized social work is conducted through adult rehabilitation centers within these divisional commands.
