ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S CRISIS CENTER OF STANISLAUS COUNTY
The Children’s Crisis Center of Stanislaus County (CCC) is a local, nonprofit organization that provides child abuse prevention, intervention and shelter services to abused, neglected and high risk children in Stanislaus County. Established in 1980, the Crisis Center offers protective care and emergency shelter to children at risk who are living in volatile family situations. Our program is designed to safeguard and comfort these children with food, clothing and affection.
The Children’s Crisis Center is the only agency in Stanislaus County that offers the solace of emergency shelter and care to local children at risk of abuse and neglect. The Crisis Center operates five home style shelters that deliver compassionate care to children of all ages. With shelters in Modesto, Oakdale, Turlock and Ceres, the Center serves over 140 children from Stanislaus County, each day, ensuring that they receive meals, loving care, crisis counseling, therapeutic opportunities, emotional support and trauma recovery.
In an effort to heal and stabilize their family life, high risk children are protected within the Center’s shelters, as their parents are guided to overcome conditions endangering their children. CCC staff work individually with abusive parents to aid them in crisis resolution, recovery and improved family functioning. Parents receive many levels of support that include crisis counseling, parent education and case management. All CCC services are offered to families free of charge.
